Aloha Bookworms,
Another stunning book from Mitch Albom which I fell for instantly. I naturally followed word after word, sentence after sentence, paragraph after paragraph ... omg, I could not finish it and nearly read it through in one go (just a short break because of external disturbance).
It basically is a hommage to the good old motto my granny always lived after & passed on to me "Everything happens for a reason" and "You will always be affected by others as they will by you - even if you do not know each other." Damn right!
And here it is that Mitch Albom is taking care to unfold an interesting and somehow deeply comforting story about why we will meet 5 people in heaven. Those 5 people are kindly chosen to explain us something in life we didn't understand or we couldn't even grab at this but still they affected us as we affected them at some point in life.
The main character is dying and slowly his life unfolds and step by step as he approaches the different people he understands his life better (and so do we).
As he is working at a theme park near the sea as his dad was also family history is involved and so it comes that even if our main character thinks he didn't do anything great in life, he is confronted with the truth that he had his reasons and was an incredible one of his own.
Love how Mitch Albom is ones more capturing such lovely, comforting thougths on paper and at the same time makes ones mind flow away and dreaming, hoping that there is a beloved one waiting on the other end.
Thank you for publishing such pure beauty of words!
Cheers,
StrangenessOfHeart
